Dear Stock Horse or Breed Association
We are working on 2010 Multi-State Stock Horse Invitational Championship
and hope you are again planning to join us! Now in our fourth year we are
very excited that we have grown every year. Last year we had ten
participating associations and hope to increase that number.
Enclosed are the updated
Rules and Guidelines for 2010 as
well as the Letter of Intent to
Participate, Sponsorship/Vendor form and other pertinent
information.
The Invitational will be held again this year at Lucky J
Arena, Carthage, MO as a two-day event on September 25-26, 2009 although
many things happen on Friday afternoon and evening before the show begins on
Saturday. Halter and performance (all judged) classes will again be held on
Saturday and all timed events will be held on Sunday. It is a two-judge
system on Saturday. Every class both days will have paybacks as well as
other prizes for the invitational classes. We have expanded the jackpot
classes including the reining (adult, youth and free-style) that was new
last year. New this year is an Open Costume Western Pleasure jackpot on
Saturday.
The deadline for
Letters of Intent to Participate will be June 30th, 2010
and your designates official "contact" person to whom all pertinent
information will be sent.
The participating association will name its top five point earners as of
the cut-off date of August29th in each show bill class they offer. A
list of these qualifiers must be received by September 3rd. Those
exhibitors qualified are invited to participate. The invitation is extended
to the exhibitor and horse combination that earned at least 50% of the
points earned in a specific class. No other exhibitor will be able to show
that horse in the specified class. If the Invitational does not offer the
same exact class, the exhibitor/horse combination may show in one other
class offered that most closely matches that class.

We are excited about the response we have gotten in developing an event
that promotes stock-type horses in this area and recognizes and rewards
excellence in stock horse breeds. We also been pleased to see how much fun
everyone has and the amount of "team" spirit generated. We encourage each
association to think about participating in the association stall decoration
contest, team t-shirts and show season photos on the "wall-of-fame." It’s
gratifying to see the team spirit and sometime rowdy encouragement for
association "team" members in the pen. It’s a great way to end the show
season with a relaxed and fun event.
We welcome you input for additional organizations that we could contact
and invite them to join us.
