Dear Stock Horse or
Breed Association
Plans are underway
for the 2009 Multi-State Stock Horse Invitational Championship! Now in our
fourth year we are very grateful for the success of this event.
The Invitational
will be held this year for the first time at Lucky J Arena, Carthage, MO
(moved just three miles away) as a two-day event on September 26-27, 2009.
Halter and performance (all judged) classes will be held on Saturday and all
timed events will be held on Sunday. It is a two-judge system on Saturday.
Every class both days will have paybacks as well as other prizes.
Exhibitors wishing
to enter must first qualify through their association (such as saddle club
associations, breed associations, paint, palomino, buckskin associations or
stock horse show circuits) where they earn points for the show season. In
order for their members to receive an invitation to compete, these
Associations must become eligible to send qualifiers by submitting a "Letter
of Intent to Participate" along with the $100.00 fee to: Multi-State
Invitational Committee, c/o CRSHA, P O Box 67, Springfield, MO 65801-0067.
Each association
will designate an official "contact" person to whom all pertinent
information will be sent and who will provide the committee with lists of
qualifiers. This contact will also provide information to their membership.
The deadline for Letters of Intent to Participate will be June 30th, 2009.
The participating
association will name its top five point earners by the cut-off date of
August 31st in each show bill class they offer. A list of these qualifiers
must be received by September 7th.
Those exhibitors are invited to participate. The invitation is extended to
the exhibitor and horse combination that earned at least 50% of the points
earned in a specific class. No other exhibitor will be able to show that
horse in the specified class. If the Invitational does not offer the same
exact class, the exhibitor/horse combination may show in one other class
offered that most closely matches that class.
If you have
questions, please feel free to call one of us. The committee information is
listed below. We will also be asking your association to help us by trying
to promote sponsors from your own geographical area. Class sponsorships are
$50 per class. If there is a specific class that you may wish to offer added
money, we must know of that interest no later than September 15. Of course,
the more support we can generate, the better the prizes will be and the
bigger the event can become. Also we welcome new ideas and suggestions!
We are excited about
the response we have gotten in developing an event that promotes stock-type
horses in this area and recognizes and rewards excellence in stock horse
breeds. We welcome you input for additional organizations that a we could
contact and ask them to join us.
