RULES
FOR SHOWING HORSES
- Rules of the AQHA (American Quarter Horse
Association) are to be followed unless specifically decided differently by
this association. The AQHA
Handbook, unless amended, will be used for all CRSHA (Cross Roads Stock
Horse Association) shows. Saddle
Clubs and other organizations holding CRSHA shows shall be advised of the
requirements of CRSHA rules as well as the CRSHA exceptions to AQHA rules.
- Non castrated male horses may not be shown in
youth classes.
- To show in mens or ladies classes the
individual must not be eligible for youth classes.
- A horse may be shown in more than one
subdivision of any type of event. (example:
A horse may be shown in both youth classes 13 and under and youth
14-18).
- Youth classes; youth pleasure (13 under,
14-18) Showmanship and Horsemanship, Points will count for exhibitor-horse
combination. Showmanship and
Horsemanship the horse owner need not be a CRSHA member.
- Walk-Trot, Showmanship at Halter (19 and over)
points will count for exhibitor-horse combination.
Lead-Line, English Equitation and Novice Western Pleasure, points
will be recorded on the exhibitor only.
For the above classes the owner of the horse need not be a CRSHA
member.
- All Classes from the
approved CRSHA class list in which a horse is shown shall be counted toward
the Year- End All
Around Trophy or High Point Horse for each show*.
- Ponies may show in classes donating Pony
Judged, Pony Timed and English Equitation and Lead-Line only.
Ponies must measure 54” and under.
- Novice Stock Horse Pleasure Rule;
To be eligible to ride in this class the rider must not have received
a first place year end award in a Novice class or a first, second or third
place year end award in any Western Pleasure class in any association for
the past three (3) years. Points
go strictly to the rider. “This
is enforced by the HONOR SYSTEM.” This
Rule MUST BE PRINTED ON THE SHOW BILL.
- It is mandatory in all classes (except hunt
Seat, English Equitation and Timed Events) to wear appropriate Western
Attire, including LONG SLEEVE SHIRTS REACHING THE WRIST and western hat.
Safety helmets shall be deemed to be appropriate attire.
- It is mandatory that exhibitors numbers be
clearly visible to the judge.
- Show committee members and their respective
family are allowed to show at CRSHA approved shows.
- Annually the CRSHA Board of Directors is to
determine a set show bill to be followed by all organizations receiving
approval for a CRSHA show.
- Points and Year End Awards will be given to
only classes that are on the set show bill, approved by the Board of
Directors, any added class will not be recognized as a Point Class nor any
Year End Award be given for that class.
