RUNNING
EVENT RULES
- In all running classes Western Attire is
optional. Safety helmets are
permitted.
- In all running classes, runs must start and
finish inside the arena. Horses
that run through the gate (in or out) will be disqualified.
- A Horse crossing back over the finishing line
after the run has been completed will be disqualified regardless of the
reason.
- Barrel race and pole bending AQHA rules are to
be followed unless decided differently by this association.
- Flag Race may start and finish from either
right or left of the barrel.
A horse may cross through the barrels on return.
Flag must be put in barrel, a miss is disqualification.
- Figure Eight (8) race may start on either side
of pole, circle barrel, finish on the opposite side started.
Do not circle the pole. Knocking
over pole or barrel shall carry a five (5) second penalty.
- Plug Race – Down and back around a barrel.
